ラダックの一部区間では Inner Line Permits が必要で、旅行前に取得しなければなりません。4,000 mを超える峠は夏でも雪のため予告なく閉鎖されることがあるので、道路情報を毎日確認してください。燃料の予備、暖かい衣類、基本的な工具一式を持参してください。機械的な सहायताが乏しいためです。
