伝説的なパミール・ハイウェイを東へたどり、ホログから細長いワハーン回廊へ入ると、道はパンジ川と険しいアフガニスタン側の峰々のあいだを縫うように進みます。旅は要塞遺跡、温泉、石造りの村々、そして広大な高地の渓谷を通り抜け、イシュカーシム近くで終わります。そこでは、中央アジアでも最も孤立した景観のひとつを常に望むことができます。
