Málaga to Seville
Spain
Through the history of Andalucia, from Málaga's airport hub west through the pueblos blancos (white villages), Arcos de la Frontera's clifftop drama, the mountaintop city of Ronda, and the Moorish legacy of Córdoba's mosques and Granada's palaces to the Alcázar of Seville. Spain's most culturally dense short drive.

- Málaga
Picasso's birthplace, with the Picasso Museum, the hilltop Alcazaba fortress and a well-preserved Roman theatre below its walls. The tapas scene on Calle Marques de Larios rivals any in Andalucia.
- Ronda
A city split by a 120m gorge, bridged by the 18th-century Puente Nuevo. Spain's oldest bullring (1785) stands here; the clifftop parador looks directly into the void of the Tajo gorge.
- Arcos de la Frontera
The finest of the pueblos blancos, a dazzling white village on a narrow limestone ridge above the Guadalete River. The castle rampart viewpoint across the reservoir is the definitive Andalucian vista.
- Jerez de la Frontera
Home of sherry: Tio Pepe and Gonzalez Byass offer cellar tours through cathedral-like ageing warehouses. The Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art performs its famous dressage show here.
- Seville
The Alcazar palace, the world's largest Gothic cathedral, and Triana's flamenco tablaos anchor one of Europe's great cities. Capital of Andalucia and the cultural climax of this drive.
