ウズベキスタンの四大都市、タシケント、サマルカンドのレギスタン、シャフリサブスにあるティムールの生誕地、ブハラのマドラサ群、そして城壁に囲まれたヒヴァのイチャン・カラを巡る、元来のシルクロード。キャラバンが往来していた時代からほとんど変わらない風景の中を、1,100 kmにわたって進む3つのユネスコ世界遺産。

- Tashkent
中央アジア最大の都市で、驚くほど美しいソ連時代の地下鉄駅、広大なチョルスー・バザール、ハズラト・イマーム宗教複合体があります。
- Samarkand
レギスタンの青いドームを持つ3つのマドラサは、地上で最も壮麗なイスラム建築の集合体を形成しています。近くにはティムールのグーリ・アミール廟があります。
- Shakhrisabz
ティムールの生誕地で、ユネスコの登録地。タフタカラチャ峠を越えて南へ80 kmの場所にあります。かつて世界で最も壮麗だった宮殿の名残は、38 mの柱が2本だけです。
- Bukhara
中央アジアで最も完全な形で残る中世都市。1127年築のカロン・ミナレットはあまりにも美しかったため、チンギス・ハンは周囲を破壊する際にこれだけは残しました。
- Khiva
イチャン・カラの泥レンガの城壁の内側には、2,500年にわたり人々が住み続ける街に50の歴史的建造物が収められています。未完成のカルタ・ミナル・ミナレットは、その鮮烈な象徴です。
