- Lanzhou
黄河が黄土を切り裂く河西回廊の玄関口。路上の屋台でその場で打ちたてる蘭州の牛肉ラーメンは、シルクロードに欠かせないエネルギー源です。
- Zhangye Danxia Landform
24億年ではなく24万年ではなく24万ではなく、24万... ではなく 24百万年にわたり、鉱物によって赤・黄・緑の24色に縞模様が入った砂岩。雨上がりには色彩が劇的に鮮やかになります。
- Mati Temple
祁連山の断崖に刻まれた仏教石窟寺院で、唐代以来ユグル族の居住地。岩を削って造られた礼拝堂が5階建てほどに積み重なっています。
- Jiayuguan Fort
万里の長城の西の終点で、ゴビ砂漠の手前にある明代最後の関所。そこより先は、知られていた中国世界の果てと考えられていました。
- Mingsha Singing Sand Dunes
高さ250mのゴビ砂丘が風に雷のように唸り、三日月泉を守っています。砂漠に2,000年ものあいだ抗い続けてきたオアシスの池です。
