ウェールズ
この周遊ルートはスノードニアの中心部を巡り、スレート産業の歴史、山岳道路、そしてウェールズ沿岸の定番の景色を組み合わせています。Betws-y-Coedから出発し、LlanberisとYr Wyddfaの斜面へ向かったら、Beddgelert、Harlech、Porthmadogの海岸を経て、内陸の渓谷を通って戻ります。

- Betws-y-Coed
石橋、松林、にぎわう屋外カフェがある、スノードニアの玄関口となる村から始めましょう。山道が始まる前の便利な拠点です。
- Swallow Falls
少し寄り道すると、ウェールズでも有名な滝の一つへ行けます。Afon Llugwyが岩の峡谷へと流れ落ち、しぶき、苔、勢いよく流れる水が短時間で楽しめる絶景スポットにしています。
- Llyn Ogwen
この山の湖は、険しい峰々の下にあり、高い峠へ向かう途中にあります。晴れた日には、水面の映り込みが道そのものに負けないほど印象的です。
- Llanberis
Yr Wyddfaの麓にあるLlanberisは、スレートの歴史、鉄道、湖、山の景観が一体になった場所です。この周遊で最も雄大な景色へ向かう主要な拠点です。
- Llanberis Pass
急な斜面と広い眺望が広がる、スノードニアの代表的な山岳ルートの一つを登ります。特に天候が変わりやすい時は、道が狭く露出しているように感じられます。
- Beddgelert
川と木々に覆われた丘の間にひっそりとある、石造りの美しい村で、近くに散策スポットもたくさんあります。高い峠を越えた後にペースを落とすのに良い場所です。
- Portmeirion
この色鮮やかなイタリア風の村が、周遊に思いがけない海岸らしさを添えます。塔やテラス、守られた庭園が、まるで映画のセットのような雰囲気です。
- Harlech Castle
海岸の上に高くそびえる城が、ルート西側のドラマチックな締めくくりになります。城壁からは、ビーチ、砂丘、遠くの山々を見渡せます。
- Porthmadog
鉄道の歴史があり、河口へも行きやすい活気ある港町です。内陸へ戻る前の補給に便利な立ち寄り先です。
- Caernarfon
この歴史ある城壁都市で旅を終えましょう。城とウォーターフロントが、ルートに力強い締めくくりを与えてくれます。山と海岸を巡る周遊の終点としてふさわしい場所です。
