- Tashkent
La città più grande dell'Asia centrale, con stazioni della metropolitana sovietiche di straordinaria bellezza, il vasto bazar di Chorsu e il complesso islamico Hazrat Imam.
- Samarkand
Le tre medresse dalle cupole blu del Registan formano il più magnifico insieme di architettura الإسلامية al mondo. Il mausoleo Gur-e-Amir di Tamerlano si trova nelle vicinanze.
- Shakhrisabz
Luogo di nascita di Tamerlano e sito UNESCO, 80 km a sud oltre il passo di Takhtakaracha. Due pilastri alti 38 m sono tutto ciò che resta del suo palazzo, un tempo il più grandioso del mondo.
